COLORS TO LIVE
Created in collaboration with Anna Aristova. Anna Aristova: For me, this collaboration with Inga was about seeing space and telling the stories behind the objects, using only spontaneous feelings. When colors of the objects meet colors of light. Sometimes it was visually quite complex, but it was a path to explore: how can light and color change the perception of the object and its shape? How can they change the mood and feeling in space? Inga Marchuk: When I met Anna, I was impressed by her inner freedom and how her creativity flows, how she transforms a space and creates in a moment, led by her inspiration. For me it was like fresh and clean air that came into my lungs at long last. I was mesmerized and followed her like a little child, yet as a grown artist. In the end, I was surprised by discovering the new edges of my own creativity. Set design was created by Anna, using her own sculptures and other objects, while I worked on ‘painting’ with light and colours. In the beginning, for me it was a project about Anna’s sculptures, but in the end it was transformed into something else. The objects, colours and light all together turned into complex photographs, which became autonomous pieces of art.
