One Day of the Family
This was my last photoshoot I made in Ukraine a few days before the war started, shortly after which I left my homeland. These photographs were made with a strong desire to tell the true story about people’s lives. I have come a long way to this moment. The one-day shoot shows a casual daily life of a family. The woman in the photos is a mother of two daughters and one baby boy. She is also a friend of mine. This photoshoot is very meaningful to us because it represents our similar values in life — togetherness, love, care, naturalness. The location is their actual home, which they had to leave when the war began and on the shooting day we didn’t know what was waiting for us in the nearest future. That is why this photoshoot became even more meaningful for us. The whole family is now in a safe place. The images represent the authenticity and warm relationship of one woman and her adorable children. The woman in these pictures plays the main role. She is full of love, kindness and caring. She is comfortable with being the mother of three children and she is confident as a woman. She teaches her children to be honest and caring, and inspires them to be themselves first of all. The main conditions of the photoshoot were naturalness and truth. All the locations and props are real and owned by the family. I decided that I want to capture more stories like that and I also intend to conduct more photoshoots for this family – two, three and more years after, to go with them through their life – because the only thing that interests me more than ever right now is human's lives, all are different and worth being told about.
